Vintage wedding cake at Wilton's music hall
This lovely cake was made for a gorgeous vintage style wedding at Wilton's Music Hall in East London. It combined cascading vintage style sugar roses and classic ribbons with a contemporary double height tier. It looked beautiful set up on the stage of the old music hall, which must be one of the most gorgeous and unique venues in London. Sadly, it is in danger of closing, so needs everyone's support to stay open. Go along and check out one of the many plays and concerts they put on there, go for a drink in the bar and recommend it to people looking for a characterful event venue in London - http://www.wiltons.org.uk/
Roses are red ...
I have been making lots of handmade sugar roses for lovely summery cakes over the last few weeks. Big soft roses look beautiful on any cake and can be carefully coloured to match the flowers in bouquets and table centres. From contemporary white to vintage dusky pink and apricot, there is a rose for everyone.
Tropical Sugar Flowers
This wedding cake, with cascading handmade sugar flowers, was made for a tropical themed wedding held in the beautiful Sussex countryside. The bright colours and interesting shapes matched the flowers in the table arrangements, while the cascading orchids were made to pick up details of the brides bouquet of cream orchids.

Christening Cookies
Iced cookies make a lovely gift for a new baby or for a christening. I recently made these cute girly cookies for baby Tallulah's christening.

Fasiontastic cookie decorating classes
I will be teaching more fun cookie decorating classes at the Make Lounge this summer, where we will be making glittery cocktail cookies, glam animal print handbag biscuits and funky iced summer dresses. Book on the Make Lounge website (http://www.themakelounge.com/workshops/detail/204) and come along for a fun evening, complete with wine and nibbles. Here is a photo of some of the cookies made at our last class
Rondavel cake
Last week I made a great Rondavel cake for an African themed party complete with thatched roof, earthenware pots and spaghetti spears. Four additional kitchen cakes were used so that there was enough delicious chocolate fudge cake for all 200 guests, whilst keeping the actual cake a manageable size. Kitchen cakes are a good way to feed lots of people and make life easier for your caterers as they can all be portioned in advance, especially if you choose to serve your cake as dessert.
Corporate Cakes
Bespoke iced cakes can make a fantastic and unusual marketing gift for your clients to enjoy. Here is a small logo cake that I recently made for a corporate order
Cupcake decorating classes
Here is a photo of some lovely glittery cupcakes which were made in one of the cupcake decorating classes that I teach at the Make Lounge in Islington (www.themakelounge.com). Come a long for a fun evening of swirls, roses and lots and lots of glitter
